Hello, new blog & newsletter!
Elsa and her herd

Arandena here to catch up on all the things I've been up to this past year! I've missed y'all!

Here comes a lot more eco-poetic musings, homestead progress updates, and farm pics!

Where I've Been

It's been so long! What can I say without making this post a year long as well?

I settled into place at the Food Forest here in Denton. Got used to the rooster crows and oddly human-sounding goat bleats. Still not used to the poor insulation and A/C of our trailer home.

But overall, it's amazing here. The homegrown food, diversity of wildlife, and night sky full of stars still take my breath away every day.

Reconnecting with Land here has been indescribable. The prairie nearby beckons and provides microbes and seeds for restoration with its bluestem and wildflowers. The creek cooled us off in the summer and showed me how beautiful little creatures can be - and how every inch of Earth is teeming with life.

The past year has held so much growth for me, and for all my loved ones. Our community is thriving with multiple successful projects and a lot of practice in conflict and repair.

Most exciting of those being the garden here at Food Forest, the Kitchen Cooperative we provide produce to, and the defense and medical training workshops. The empowerment we provide each other continues to accelerate, through embracing our unique care callings and sharing skills.

Where I'm Going

I'm visiting an ecovillage this week to help a friend build a queer cob co-house and am so stoked! I'll try to remember to post some photos and updates about my experience next week!

Otherwise, I've finally set up my mini apothecary and am back to studying and crafting herbal remedies, and its felt more engaging than ever now that I'm actually growing and harvesting and living alongside all these sacred plants.

Much more to come on my herbal explorations, so stay tuned!

Thanks for taking the time to catch up to me! I'd love to hear back from you about what you're up to! Feel free to email me at aransinbox@protonmail.com

Much love and mushrooms,

Arandena
